Austin Scarlett: Exclusive Interview at COUTURE

Over the weekend, we were very excited to have attended COUTURE: New York Bridal Fashion Week (formerly WeddingChannel Couture Show), which is the most established, premier bridal industry trade show in New York and has been the launching pad for legendary wedding dress designers such as Monique Lhuillier, Reem Acra and Lela Rose.  This magnificent event, held twice a year, welcomes thousands of national and international designers, retailers and press to introduce, buy and announce the latest fashion trends of the bridal world.  And this year, Austin Scarlett unveiled plans for his new bridal collection, set to debut in fall 2012 at New York Bridal Fashion Week!  Although we're scheduled to attend Austin's autumn runway show, it was such an honor to be afforded an opportunity to meet and interview him during the exclusive preview. Austin first gained recognition for his designs on the original season of Project Runway before being one of the youngest designers in ...

Kim Kardashian "Konnubial"

As reported, Kim Kardashian will finally wed on August 20, 2011.  Per statements and a short video (below) from her bridal shower, her family is extremely excited and looking forward to Kim's walk down the white aisle ... and so are we! According to the double-K monogrammed wedding invitation, the black-tie event is set to take place in Montecito, California (near Oprah Winfrey's lavish estate).  As with many celebrity couples, specific location information was left off the invitation for security purposes.  But we can count on the paparazzi uncovering this little secret in no time. It seems Kim has been eager to join her sisters, Khloe and Kourtney, in the "larger milestones of life" (marriage and children).  Needless to say, her engagement to NBA player Kris Humphries was no shock.  Albeit, the enormous 20.5 carat engagement ring was quite a surprise.  Whoa! So as the entertainment world awaits photos and details of what's ...

Amsale + Drama = ABC-TV WEDDING WEEK

Three of the TV dramas I've watched faithfully each and every week for a few years are featuring weddings this week: Grey's Anatomy , Private Practice and Brothers & Sisters .  Can you say "heaven?!"  This may go down in history as my own personal sweeps week .  What I also love about this week is all four bridal gowns were provided by one of my favorite couture designers, Amsale .  She's dressed everyone from Julia Roberts to Katherine Heigl to Alicia Keys, and between tonight and Sunday she's adding "Callie," "Arizona," "Charlotte" and "Sarah" to the list. First on Grey's Anatomy (Thursday at 9:00 p.m. EST), the characters "Callie" and "Arizona" will say "I do."  Sara Ramirez ("Callie") chose her own gown but asked Amsale to add sleeves.  Jessica Capshaw's ("Arizona") gown was chosen to complement Sara's and features flowing organza cut-outs and cr...

David's Bridal + Vera Wang = WHITE

We, along with wedding "fashionistas" worldwide, were so excited to learn Vera Wang had teamed up with David's Bridal to produce a modestly priced line of exquisite wedding gowns and accessories. The WHITE collection debuted in 150 stores in February and has received rave reviews, for its beauty as well as its affordability. Yes, ladies, now you can have Vera for $1500 or less. So if you haven't included David's Bridal on your gown shopping itinerary, you may certainly want to reconsider. And here's why ... - - - - - - - - - - by Rashana Anderson Founder & Managing Director, THE BRIDAL PARTY

Fit for a Princess

With just 17 days left until the wedding of Prince William & Catherine Middleton, everyone's a buzz about the service, festivities, world-wide coverage and ... THE DRESS.  The bride-to-be has taken much care in concealing the make and design of her gown, which won't be revealed until the morning of the wedding, but there's quite a bit of speculation swirling.  She obviously has endless options, but no one outside of her family really knows if she's go outstandingly opulent or classically chaste.  What's your best guess?  Here are a few of ours: Hayari Couture Oksana Mukha Priscilla of Boston Yolan Cris Ian Stuart Takami Martina Liana  Collette Dinnigan (all images courtesy of Wedding Inspirasi )  - - - - - - - - - - by Rashana Anderson Founder & Managing Director, THE BRIDAL PARTY

Cues From The Red Carpet: 2011 Oscars

The red carpet of the 83rd Annual Academy Awards was beaming with glitz and glamour!  From subtle nude sparklers to bold statement-making pops of color, we were in awe of it all.  One trend I particularly gravitated to this year was texture.  So many of Hollywood's elite chose embellished gowns that featured beads, lace, sequins, feathers and flowing ruffles.  Just gorgeous! Check out some of the celebs who allowed texture to make their statement along the red carpet: Halle Berry wearing Marchesa Michelle Williams wearing Chanel Mila Kunis wearing Ellie Saab Scarlett Johansson wearing Dolce & Gabbana Hillary Swank wearing Gucci Gwyneth Paltrow wearing Calvin Klein Now take a look at how several designers make it easy for this year's bride to incorporate beautiful texture into the most important gown she'll ever wear: (from designers Tara Keely, Rosa Clará, Pepe Botella Novias, Lazaro, Alexander McQueen) - - - - - - - - - - by Rashana Anderson Founde...
