The Knot Gala = "Love On Top"

We were thrilled to have been invited to cover the red carpet at one of Bridal Fashion Week's most anticipated events, The Knot's 2nd Annual Industry Gala , held at The New York Public Library on October 17th.  Capping off this season's Bridal Market, the who's who of all things weddings ... socialites, designers, event planners and other industry players ... gathered to party the night away and celebrate at what many consider to be the Oscars of the wedding world.  After being shown our place on the red carpet, we were just so excited to be a part of it all! Sneaky Deception vs. Fair Market Research

I just read an awesome post over at Sparkliatti that I could not help but share with my readers. Sparkliatti is a blog headed up by San Francisco based celebrity event planner Sasha Souza, and she recently shared some inside info that many of us planners are all too familiar with: new/up-and-coming planners using sneaky tactics to uncover and copy established planners' business models/plans/prices. These newbies actually "shop" you and it can really get out of hand. Here's Sasha's article (which deserves a big "AMEN" at the end): Over the past few weeks, I've been shopped by other planners no less than twice - and those are the planners that I actually caught doing it. I have my suspicions on three other info requests as well which we are handling with kid gloves. New Year. New Look.

So, what'dya think of our blog's NEW look?  Well ... we couldn't be happier! On August 20, 2007, After "YES," Before "I DO" & Everything In Between , the official blog of The Bridal Party , was born and it's been quite a magnificient ride thus far.  And though the first suggestions made to us about blogging 2+ years ago weren't received with open arms, now, we simply can not imagine not sharing such a rewarding and truly fulfilling dialogue with all of you.  With that said, we're excited to be launching our snazzy new blog look today. Our humble beginnings looked something like this ... But we're proud to have a new and improved custom look that we LOVE! In addition to custom design we've added an intuitive menu bar, in hopes of making the navigation of After "YES," Before "I DO" & Everything In Between a bit easier for our readers.  But rest assured, while we've switched things around a bit...

Noteworthy Over At Colin's Blog

I was very excited to have met Colin Cowie at The Wedding Salon's NYC bridal show in March. I was all the more excited to have received an email from Colin shortly thereafter thanking me for my support.  But none of that compares to how appreciative and humbled I am that Colin has decided to list After YES, Before I DO & Everything In Between as a noteworthy blog over at Colin's Blog: Life At 120 Miles Per Hour ! This is truly an honor, for Colin Cowie's dedication over the years to designing beautiful events AND providing exceptional service as an arbiter of style is second-to-none. As I expressed in my reply back to Mr. Cowie's email, his accomplishments have been an inspiration in that I will always be "passionate about my work and remain a 'student'...[focused to] continuously challenge myself to learn and evolve, [which] I believe is crucial in providing top-notch service" to the clients of THE BRIDAL PARTY . Sobitart Photography penned a new blog post today about the photo shoot they did for RashanaAnderson.com 's redesign last Fall. Chad, the owner and lead photographer, is phenomenally talented. He is also a very good friend of mine. The photo shoot was SO MUCH FUN!  When the time came for our web designers, Onyx Code , to start laying in photography it was really difficult choosing shots. What Type Is That Blog?

Thanks to Katasha of K Sherrie+Company Planning Atelier , I just typealyzed my blog.  Here's the result: ESTP - The Doers The active and play-ful type. They are especially attuned to people and things around them and often full of energy, talking, joking and engaging in physical out-door activities. The Doers are happiest with action-filled work which craves their full attention and focus. They might be very impulsive and more keen on starting something new than following it through. They might have a problem with sitting still or remaining inactive for any period of time. I was expecting somewhat of a different result ... perhaps ESFP-The Performers , but I guess it says a lot about the tone of my blog. If you're a blogger, why not typealyze your blog and leave us a comment with your results!
