A Few Of My Favorite Things...

Each season brings new and exciting ideas/items for those planning wedding celebrations. Just when you think you've seen it all, something new knocks you out of your comfort zone. But I just love new ideas for ways to make your wedding really special. And the way to do that is to find favors/gifts/touches that are wonderfully unpredictable!

These are a few of my favorite things...

Postcup™ by bailey doesn't bark
Such a cute idea for bridesmaid gifts. These white porcelain cups are decorated with “postcard” design, where your custom message and the recipient's address are painted on. What a perfect way to say "thank you" and make each of your bridesmaids feel appreciated.

Save The Date Cookies by The Flour Pot Cookies
Now this isn't your average save-the-date magnet. Each recipient will literally be in for a treat as each cookie is personalized with your wedding date and wrapped in a cello bag with a festive raffia tie.

Crystal Diamond Paperweight by Z Gallerie
These oversized crystal paperweights will shimmer brightly on any surface. They're presented in a square black box with black satin lining. Any bride-to-be would LOVE one.

Leather Wrap Traveler's Journal by Barnes & Noble
If you're doing a travel theme, this might be a good gift idea for you. Furthermore, this luxurious leather journal is the perfect gift for anyone who appreciates the finer things in life. What better way to keep track of all of adventures and discoveries?

Shout-Out Tees by The Names Brand
These t-shirts are pretty cool and can be personalized according to the recipient's favorite sports team, politicians, bands, movies, video games alter egos, etc. In this case, the pictured item would be perfect for my husband who's a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Aluminum Water Bottles by Beau-Coup
Give these as gifts to keep your wedding party healthy and hydrated on your big day - and every day.

Monthly Cocktail Subscriptions by Stirrings
Sign someone up for six months of stupendous cocktails! With this delicious and luxurious gift, you or your lucky recipient will receive a full-size, 32 oz Cocktail Mixer, complementary Rimmer® Garnish, and a recipe card each month, for 6 months.

An Old-Fashioned Treat by Ronnybrook Farm Dairy
A really cute and really thoughtful take-home favor...cookies and milk! It's a no brainer. And these glass bottles are very charming. Everyone will be impressed. Photo courtesy of Brides.com

"Farm Sweet Farm" 1st Birthday Party

My husband and I celebrated our baby twins, Jonah & Gia's, 1st birthday with a "Farm Sweet Farm" party last weekend.  The party was held at our home (aka The Anderson Farm) and our closest family and friends excitedly attended.  Honestly it's still difficult for us to believe a full year has gone by since they entered our lives, but one thing was clear from the beginning --- we had a lot to celebrate and we intended to do just that!

Everyone had loads of fun; they would've partied until the cows came home if we let them.  And since the guests of honor LOVE animals, the theme proved to be absolutely perfect for them and their guests.  To most, I'm known for planning amazing weddings and bridal celebrations by means of THE BRIDAL PARTY, so it was really a lot of fun to step outside of my comfort zone and show off my versatility and range.  I can't deny, this was FUN!  I'm still quite "giddy" about it all.

Lola & Lekan: Golden Gala

We shared snapshots of our Golden Gala wedding last month, but now professional photos are in!

This season we've been extremely blessed with virtually perfect weather, and for this event it was no different.  A traditional Nigerian ceremony was held the day before, featuring a host of absolutely stunning elements of the bride and groom's African culture.  The traditional American ceremony, the next day, was held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Englewood followed by a really fun-loving reception at The Royal Manor in Garfield.  Almost 500 of the couple's family and friends partied into the night, enjoying a gorgeous mix of Nigerian and American culture ... plus our romantically designed "Sweets Sideboard" that followed their white, ivory and gold color scheme was a huge hit!

It was such a pleasure working with Lola and her family, which is why we couldn't wait to share some of the best moments of the beginning of her new life with Lekan below, tha…

Aidan & Jonathan: Enchanted Forest

We shared snapshots of our Enchanted Forestwedding just four days ago and somehow, SOMEWAY, professional photos became available last night!  (an unbelievable world record ... calling Guinness after the holiday)

As mentioned before, we were brought on to plan and execute this wedding just 3 months out, at which time 90% of the vendors and service providers had not been selected.  But I must say, we couldn't have had a better team of professionals bring this event to life if we'd started a year ago.

The ceremony was held in the evening on the outdoor patio of Stone House at Stirling Ridge in Warren, NJ.  On this brisk mid-November night, our teams successfully achieved a loving and warm ambiance by having clear tent wall covered by swags of 21-foot long fabric hung on the outer perimeter of the space.  This treatment allowed for the bride's dream of being married near nature but also kept the couple's beloved friends and family comfortable.  A blooming birch-branch …
